Location: Fresno, CA | Field nots from our friend Barry regarding his most recent trip to Europe to attend an ECW reenactment event. Note that on the second page of Barry's site for this trip (http://www.syler.com/ReliveHistory/SlagomGrolle2008/battle.htm) there is a very specific example of why you DON'T USE MODERN FABRICS when creating historical clothing.
Good day:
I've returned from my expedition to England, the Netherlands & Germany. England and Germany were side trips to the primary purpose of the journey: Slag om Grolle (Battle of Grolle) re-enactment of a 1627 battle, held at Groenlo, the Netherlands.
I've prepared two Web pages with pictures, which begin at: http://www.syler.com/ReliveHistory/SlagomGrolle2008/ I served there as a pikeman on the Dutch side with English 'mercenaries. '

(Normally, I'd sign off with "For God & the Cause of Parliament," but the Sealed Knot regiment I participated with was Rawdon's, a Royalist unit, which made me feel very welcome every moment I was with them.)
