I don't suppose there were any photos of these items? Might make spotting and identifying them a lot easier.

There is another 'stolen weaponry' alert going around today on Tribes:

I am asking for help from all of the Faire folk hereabouts. My vehicle trunk was broken into last night and the sword I use for Ren Faire stolen along with its belt. I have posted a picture to this tribe. Please be on the look out for it on Ebay and elsewhere. They also took a bag of personal protective equipment I use for emergency response.

Thank you all. (Steve)

If anyone spots this sword and suspects that it is the stolen item in question - please let me know and I will get the info to Steve

Aiyeeee...... You know... I am always wondering when I hear of things like this whether it was random luck by the thief, or if they were watching and waiting. We're pretty careful about being visible with our valuables to avoid such things happening. I really feel bad for anyone it's happened to, and I do hope that at least some of it gets recovered. We'll keep our eyes open.

MAJOR UPDATE

I want to thank all of you who wished me well during this issue. Your good thoughts must have helped.

I got a phone message on Thursday last week from a neoghbor down the street. He said he had found a belt in his flower bed and did not realize what it was until he saw the posters I put up. Now when he said belt, that was all I expected to find. When I picked it up, it was the belt and the HANGER!!! The idiot thieves had unbuckled the sword from the hanger and thrown the belt and hanger into the flower bed. I will be wearing the belt and hanger this weeknd with my new SWORD that my wonderful wife bought for me for my birthday on the 4th. She is really the best wife there is.

Total loss from this experience: 1 $40 sword, 2 Full face respirators, 1 sense of security.
Total gain from the experience: 1 much nicer sword, knowledge of friends and family who support you, and the comic picture of 2 stupid teenagers wearing respirators and beating each other with a sword.

Thank you all for your support and the offers of replacement swords to wear for Faire.

BTW - The message I posted was from 'Steve', the guy who lost the sword (I should have mentioned that in the post, but forgot to!).
